Police seize cannabis haul
Cannabis resin
The drugs are thought to be worth more than £1m
Police on security alert discovered a huge consignment of what is thought to be cannabis resin when they stopped a van on the M1 on Wednesday.

Hertfordshire police officers pulled over the large rental van at 2350 GMT as it was travelling southbound towards the interchange with the M25.

The male driver ran off, but another man was arrested at the scene.

A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said the van had "aroused suspicion at a time when security measures are heightened as it appeared to be overladen with goods for a vehicle of its size".

She said the drugs are thought to be worth more than £1m.

The arrested man, a 41-year-old from Golders Green in London, is currently being questioned on suspicion of drugs possession with intent to supply.
