How much trust should we have in corporate numbers?

If you remember last year's Reith Lectures, this will sound like heresy. But when it comes to corporate numbers, could it be that what we need in the world is less trust?

More or Less talks to the political scientist who thinks the lesson of Enron and other corporate failures is just that.

And we hear from a small businessman about how he produces some of his figures. Bank managers may prefer to sit down before listening.

There's the interview with Bjorn Lomborg, the sceptical environmentalist whose book casting doubt on the claims of the green movement - they use selective data, he said - was itself attacked for being selective.

Lomborg is a statistician. So how does he try to use the numbers objectively?

And the story of the explorer who lost his faith in science and in God during an expedition to try to prove that numbers are an expression of the divine that could be found in nature.

Plus, "Britain ranked top/bottom/below Poland/above Germany".

The perils of international comparisons - the way we gauge how we measure up against other countries.

More or Less will also be trying to get to the bottom - or rather the top - of the cricket rankings.

How do you rate the best players in the world?

Producer: Michael Blastland
Editor: Nicola Meyrick
