Security increased at Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford Airport
Police say the increased security is a precaution
Security has been stepped up at Leeds Bradford Airport in line with increased vigilance around the country.

West Yorkshire Police are taking the precautionary measure to reassure the public.

It follows similar moves at other airports across the country in the wake of Tuesday's decision to send troops into Heathrow.

Police say there have been no specific threats made in West Yorkshire but security measures have been tightened in and around the terminal.

Manchester, Stansted and Jersey have also announced a major increase in the number of police patrols in and around their airports.

In London, hundreds of troops continue to protect Heathrow.
