Arsonists attack Foxes former home
Filbert Street
The football ground has been bought by developers
A number of fires at Leicester City Football Club's former stadium are thought to have been started by arsonists.

About 20 firefighters were called to Filbert Street just after 2000 GMT on Tuesday.

They found several fires in the Carling Stand and the Old Fosse restaurant.

A group of youths told firefighters that one of their party was trapped inside.

However the youth later broke out and ran from the scene.

Station officer Ian Holden, from Central Station, was one of those fighting the fire.

He said there was not much structural damage but firefighters were faced with a lot of smoke.

Police have begun an investigation.
