Poacher shoots at gamekeeper
Dead pheasant
The man was carrying a pheasant under his arm
Police are looking for a suspected poacher who fired an air rifle at a gamekeeper in Shropshire.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon in Squirrel Lane near Ludlow when the gamekeeper challenged a man carrying a gun with a pheasant under his arm.

An argument broke out and, as the gamekeeper turned to walk away, he was threatened then the gun was fired.

Although the shot missed the gamekeeper, police said they are treating it as a serious crime.

Detectives want to question a man in his late teens or early 20s with a pierced left eyebrow.

He was unshaven, wearing a blue, woollen bobble hat with a white rim, blue jeans and a dark-coloured bomber jacket.
