Missing teacher found safe
Michael Ironmonger, 46, returned to his family early on Wednesday after disappearing on his way to work in West Yorkshire on Monday. He rang his family, who live in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, from Cumbria and returned home just after 0000 GMT. Greater Manchester Police said they would be speaking to Mr Ironmonger about his disappearance, which was described as totally out of character. So far there is no indication as to what he was doing during the two days he was missing. Police initially considered that Mr Ironmonger might have been involved in a road accident on the journey to work. His wife, Lesley, was immediately concerned on Monday because her husband normally lets her know he has arrived at Norton Thorpe Hall School in Scissett, near Huddersfield.
