Love in China
Married couple
Seventy marriages arranged and no divorces
Love in China was broadcast as part of the New China, New Year series on BBC Two on Sunday, 2 February at 1915 GMT.
Have your say

Every spare minute of Hu Yanping 's time is devoted to her voluntary dating agency.

She brings together the hundreds of couples too busy prospering in the new China to find a partner themselves.

But film director Jiang Yue candidly discovers that the reality of Hu's own life is a far cry from her romantic matchmaking.

She is a divorce lawyer, advising women to leave their abusive husbands.

But her own marriage is far from happy.

This film coincided with Chinese New Year, and is part of the BBC Four / BBC Two China season.

Producer: Mark Frith
Director: Jiang Yue
Editor: Karen O'Connor
Deputy Editor: David Belton
Online Producer: Andrew Jeffrey
