Man gets life for head stamping
Court graphic
Man beat up partner after drink and drugs cocktail
A man from Leicester, who broke his partner's skull by stamping on her head, has been sentenced to life in prison.

Kevin Lambert, 38, of no fixed address, left Joanne Moore with serious injuries.

Nottingham crown court heard how Lambert had taken a cocktail of drink and drugs before he kicked Joanne Moore and stamped on her head on the April 24 2002.

She was left with a fractured skull and serious bruising.

The defence said Lambert, who admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent, deeply regretted the attack, which had led to him being separated from his two sons.

Judge Richard Pollard told Lambert he automatically qualified for a life sentence because of his convictions for violence.
