Unease among the ranks
Chris Smith
Chris Smith is MP for Islington South and Finsbury
In an interview for BBC HARDtalk, Chris Smith, former British cabinet minister, talks to Tim Sebastian.

There is a significant amount of unease amongst members of the British Parliament about the prospect of war against Iraq.

Many of the Prime Minister's own party have been expressing reservations about the moral basis for such a war.

Chris Smith, a former member of Tony Blair's Cabinet, is one of the more senior members of the Labour Party to speak out.

Tim Sebastian asks him under what circumstances he would support a decision to go to war.

This interview can be watched in full on Wednesday 29 January on BBC World and BBC News 24 at the following times:

BBC News 24 (times shown in GMT) 0430, repeated 2230

BBC World (times shown in GMT) 0330, repeated 1130, 1530, 1830, 2330

HARDtalk with Tim Sebastian is broadcast Mon - Friday on BBC World and BBC News 24
