Man killed by falling girder

John Smith died in Grantham Hospital
Police have revealed the name of a man who died after being hit by a falling steel girder in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

John Smith, 64, from Kipling Close, in Grantham, was trapped under the girder at the Site Coates Services, on Old Wharf Road, on Saturday.

He was released by firefighters, but died later in Grantham Hospital.

The incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
