An American student who was seriously injured in a mugging in Weston-super-Mare is offering a £2,000 reward to catch his attacker.

Ross Good suffered head injuries when he fell 15 feet from the sea wall during the attack last summer.

The 22-year-old astro-physics student, who was on tour with his college football team spent a month in Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol.

At the time, police staged a reconstruction of the attack in which Mr Good was assaulted by a man who tried to grab his rucksack.

The man then escaped with the bag in a waiting burgundy-coloured Volkswagen car, driven by a dark-haired woman.

Despite a high-profile investigation, the couple have not been found.

Mr Good told the BBC: "I am back at school now. It has not been easy, but I am getting there.

"It has been a long process to come forward with the reward... it makes me mad that this man is still out there.

"There has to be someone out there who knows the person," he added.

Mr Good, who has returned to his home is Seattle, Washington, still suffers from short-term memory loss and a lack of taste and smell.
