Taxi passenger hit by cab
The man was hit by an old-style black cab
Police are appealing for a taxi driver to come forward after one of his passengers was knocked over.
The injured man was hit after getting out of the cab in Merseyside in the early hours of Sunday with two friends. The old-style black Hackney carriage took the group from Liverpool city centre to Tarbock Road, close to the M62 Bowring Park exit. Police believe there may have been a disagreement over the fare, before one of the men was knocked over by the taxi. Witness appeal He suffered serious injuries and is recovering in hospital. The men had flagged down the taxi at about 0100 GMT on Sunday in the city centre, close to Brownlow Hill. Merseyside Police are urging the taxi driver to come forward. Officers also want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or mechanics who may have recently been asked to repair damage to an old-style Hackney carriage. The driver was aged between 40 and 50, about 5ft 10in tall, of small build and had broad shoulders. He had grey shoulder-length untidy curly hair and was wearing a round-neck black woollen jumper with a thin blue line around the collar.
