Man charged after caravan siege
Police at the scene
No-one was injured in the 12-hour stand-off
A man is facing charges of witness intimidation and breach of bail conditions after a 12-hour siege at a caravan park near York.

The 38-year-old local man will face magistrates on Wednesday after armed police had surrounded the Ponderosa Caravan Park, near Sutton-on-the-Forest, at 2200 GMT on Monday.

The incident started when police went to arrest a man at the park on the York to Helmsley road.

Up to 20 armed officers wearing bullet-proof vests were on the scene during the stand-off.
