Attacker made 'sexual advances'
West Midlands Police headquarters
West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses
A man made "sexual advances" towards a woman after he grabbed her by the throat and demanded cash.

The woman was with two young children when she was attacked in an alleyway near Abbotts Lane, Coventry, at about 1045 GMT on Monday.

The man grabbed her by the throat and then demanded her money.

A West Midlands police spokesman said that when the woman told him she had nothing with her, he made "sexual advances" towards her.

Woman screamed

When the woman screamed the man ran off.

Police believe the same man is responsible for trying to rob a woman just minutes earlier in nearby Leicester Row.

Again the man ran from the scene when the woman screamed.

He is described as white, aged in his early 20s wearing a tweed cap and baggy black jeans.
