Security staff tipped off the police
Three men arrested for acting suspiciously near the GCHQ spy base in Gloucestershire have been released without charge.

Security staff spotted the trio taking photographs in Prestbury Road, Cheltenham, near the Oakley site on Saturday.

They were arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 and taken to Stroud police station for questioning.

The men, aged 18, 19 and 20, were released without charge at 1250 GMT on Monday.

A police spokeswoman said: "Gloucestershire police are alert to the potential threat of terrorism and are doing everything possible to combat it.

"There is no need for the public to be alarmed by this threat, but it is important that they remain alert and help us by their continued vigilance and support."

Police have stressed that there is no connection with the recent arrests in Manchester or London.
