Suing the Pope - the update
Colm O'Gorman
Colm O'Gorman still lives with his rape torment
Suing the Pope - the update, was broadcast on Wednesday, 29 January, 2003 on BBC Two at 2320 GMT
Have your say

In 2002, Colm O'Gorman journeyed into his past to expose his own rape as a child by a Catholic priest - in a film with Correspondent.

"Suing the Pope", when broadcast in March 2002, caused turmoil in the Catholic Church.

The Vatican stepped in and forced the resignation of the Bishop of Ferns, Dr Brendan Comiskey.

He became the first Bishop to resign for failing to deal with the paedophile priest who had abused Colm and many others.

Now, a year later, Sarah Macdonald returns to Ireland to reveal the incredible consequences of Colm's story on the Irish people and the Catholic Church internationally.

Colm O'Gorman is still suing the Pope.
