Youth footballer joins in crowd fight
Worcester City Football Club
The fight broke out at Worcester City Football Club
An under-18s football match in Worcester had to be abandoned when a player left the pitch to join in a fight which broke out in the main stand.

A scuffle involving a handful of the crowd broke out with five minutes left of Sunday's Midlands Counties game between Worcestershire and Shropshire.

One of the Shropshire players, whose team was winning 1-0 at the time, entered the main stand to take part in the fight.

The referee decided to call off the match after consulting both his assistants.

An investigation into the incident at Worcester City's ground will now be carried out.

It is not yet clear if the result will stand, or if the match will have to be replayed.

The Worcestershire FA has said it is unable to comment on what action may be taken until the referee's report is completed.
