Hospital staff resolve pay dispute
Hospital ward
Operations were cancelled during the one-day strike
An industrial dispute over pay affecting hospital staff in Wirral has been settled.

Ancillary staff employed by Wirral Hospitals Trust at Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospitals voted on Sunday to accept a new offer recommended by union officials.

A walk-out last month by the workers led to the cancellation of more than 100 operations.

The workers affected by the dispute include porters, domestics, catering and clerical staff and auxiliary nurses.

They wanted pay parity for people doing the same jobs.

The Unison, TGWU and GMB unions had already met with managers and staff to try to resolve the issue.
