Driver A post mortem examination has been carried out into the death an an inquest has been opened and adjourned by North West Wales Coroner Dewi Pritchard-Jones. It was initially thought that the victim of the collision was a child. A Network Rail (formerly Railtrack) spokesman said the driver reported hitting what at the time was described as a young person, half a mile from the Valley signal box. But police confirmed the victim was a male over the age of 16. They said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
