More patrols after pensioner murder
Vera Mary Moore was last seen shopping
Police have increased patrols in the area where an 83-year-old woman was brutally murdered.
Vera Mary Moore, 83, was found in her home in Beeston, Nottingham, on Friday. A post-mortem examination showed she had been strangled. Police say they have increased uniformed patrols in the vicinity to help reassure local residents. Spotted shopping Public appeals for information have drawn little response and police say there are still no clues as to who may have attacked the pensioner. Mrs Moore left her daughter's house on Thursday afternoon to walk to her own home in Beeston, Nottingham. She was later spotted shopping along Queens Road. Her daughter found the body when she visited her mother's house. There was no evidence of forced entry to the house, but a black leather purse is believed to have been stolen. Police say finding this purse could be crucial to their investigation.
