Car destroyed in arson attack
A car belonging to a north Belfast family has been destroyed in an overnight arson attack.

It was parked outside a house in Torrens Crescent.

Local Democratic Unionist Party councillor Nelson McCausland said he believed the attack was sectarian.

"The family were very fortunate that the fire did not spread to the house itself," he said.

"In fact, they had to escape out of the rear door.

"But it is simply the latest in a long series of attacks on the community at Torrens.

"It is part of an ongoing republican strategy to drive Protestants out of such communities."
