Body find sparks murder hunt
Police officers
The man's body was found on waste land
A murder hunt has been launched in Glasgow following the discovery of a man's body on waste land in the city's east end.

The body of Kevin Clark, 22, from Cambuslang, was found on Myreside Street, Carntyne, on Saturday morning at approximately 1030 GMT.

Officers have been carrying out house to house inquiries in a bid to find out more information.

A post-mortem examination is due to be held.

Strathclyde Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

According to the police, Mr Clark grew up in Carntyne and still had friends and family in the area.

Chief Inspector George Lambie, who is leading the inquiry, does not yet know if Mr Clark died on the waste ground where his body was found or why he might have been killed.

He said: "Kevin was seen in Shettleston Road near to Westmuir Street, which is a large junction, about 0215 GMT on Saturday.

"I believe he saw other people in that area and if they recognise his description they should come forward."

He said it was a "very traumatic" experience for the family of Mr Clark, and they were being attended by a police liaison officer.
