Danielle mother's fury at killer
Linda and Tony Jones last year
Parents did not know of killer's past convictions
The mother of murdered Essex schoolgirl Danielle Jones has talked of the pain caused by her daughter's death.

Linda Jones said she wanted to "rip the heart out" of Stuart Campbell, Danielle's uncle, who was convicted of her murder last December.

In a video diary, to be broadcast on BBC1 on Monday night, Mrs Jones describes how the killing has led to repeated clashes with her husband Tony, whose sister Debbie is married to Campbell, and the effect it has had on Danielle's brothers Mitchell, 12, and Ryan, 14.

"It just makes me sick," Mrs Jones said on the film.

"The thought of what he's [Campbell] put us through, what he's put the boys through.

"I just want to walk over and rip his heart out."

Never found

Fifteen-year-old Danielle disappeared while walking to catch a school bus near her home in East Tilbury on June 18 2001.

The diary was recorded over the months leading up to the trial of 44-year-old Campbell.

Danielle's body has never been found and Campbell, a builder, is refusing to help police.

Mrs Jones says: "Some days I deal with it, some days I don't.

"It's just eating away at me all the time."

Speaking of her husband Tony, she adds: "I know it's not his fault but it's caused resentment because it's his family that's caused this."

At Campbell's trial it was revealed that he was obsessed with Danielle and had a fascination with teenage girls.

Police investigations also showed Campbell had sent himself text messages from Danielle's phone after she disappeared.

And the jury heard experts give evidence that blood-stained stockings and a lipgloss found in Mr Campbell's home contained traces of her DNA.

  • Missing Danielle will be shown on BBC1 at 2235 GMT on Monday.
