Man robbed near monastery
A man has been attacked and robbed near a monastery in County Down.

He was then taken to his home where demands were made for more money.

The 20-year-old man was walking to his Crossgar home at the time.

He was going through the the grounds of the monastery when a number of men approached him.

He was kicked, punched and beaten before some money was taken.

One of the robbers then took him to his Martin Court home where more money was demanded while the victim's partner and 14-month-old baby were in the house.

The police in Downpatrick are anxious to hear from anyone who was in the area when the attack happened at about 2100 GMT on Friday.
