Gang attacks milkman and float
Killingbeck police station
Police at Killingbeck Station are hunting the attackers
A milkman is recovering after he was robbed as he made deliveries in Leeds.

The victim was on Wykebeck Road in the Osmondthorpe area at 0420 GMT when he was approached by two men who first demanded money and then his van.

The milkman refused and the pair started to take bottles of milk from the back of the van and ran off.

When confronted by the milkman the pair were joined by three others who started to take more bottles and crates from the back of the van.

There was a violent struggle and the milkman was felled after a series of blows to the back of the head and neck.

The gang then started to attack the van smashing the windscreen, windows and wing mirror.

Police at the city's Killingbeck division are describing it as a "nasty attack."

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the first attacker is described as white, aged 18 to 23 years old, 5ft 9ins tall and scruffy with a nose which appeared to have been previously broken several times.

The second of the gang is described as white, 17 to 18 years old, 5ft 4ins tall and wearing a baseball cap.
