Death crash bus driver jailed
court graphic
A minibus driver from Lincolnshire who lost control of his vehicle and killed one of his passengers has been jailed for nine months.

Lincoln Crown Court heard the man was taking workers home from the Geest factory in Spalding when the crash happened.

Robert Brown, 61, from Skegness, lost control on a bend while speeding on the A52 at Wrangle, near Boston.

The minibus was sent into a skid and collided with a telegraph pole.

'Genuine remorse'

Scott Cawthorne, who was in the front passenger seat, was killed in the crash.

Several other passengers were injured.

Brown denied causing death by dangerous driving and the court was told he had shown genuine remorse and needed psychiatric help after being badly affected by the crash.

But he was found guilty and, as well as being sentenced to nine months in prison, he was banned from driving for four years.
