'Sexual motive' theory after burglary
Police officers on beat
Police are investigating the incident
Police in Cumbria are investigating the possibility of a sexual motive behind the burglary of a 92-year-old woman.

The woman's home, in Carlisle, was broken into in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police officers were called to her home shortly before 0500 GMT after she pulled a Careline cord for help.

The woman was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary where she is said to be in a "very distressed" condition.

A spokesman for the Cumbria Police said it is not yet clear if the woman was physically attacked.

Officers are hoping to speak to the woman on Saturday morning.
