The jobs on the islands run from February until October
A Plymouth recruitment fair is offering jobseekers the chance to spend the summer in the sun, 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall.

On Saturday hoteliers from the Isles of Scilly will be looking for new recruits to fill a range of about 100 catering and retail posts.

The event, at the Buckwell Street Job Centre, starts at 0930 GMT.

Employers are looking for staff to cover one of the busiest times in the islands' tourism calendar.

Recruitment problems

The Isles of Scilly is an archipelago of five inhabited islands and numerous other small rocky islets 28 miles off Lands End.

It is the most south-westerly point of the British Isles.

The population of just over 2,000 is swelled during the tourist season by holidaymakers attracted by the exceptionally mild climate and golden sandy beaches.

Every year hotels in the region find it difficult to recruit chefs and it is hoped that by starting early the Isles of Scilly will not encounter the same recruitment problems.

The jobs will start in February and continue until October and are all live-in.

Last year the event attracted more than 150 jobseekers.
