Gun Crime
Fake guns
We had an exclusive Newsnight investigation into the use of replica guns and how easy it is to get them in Britain. We asked the Home Office minister how the problem can be tackled. This, as the government prepared for a special conference on gun crime later this week.

Israel
We also examined the increasingly bitter diplomatic spat between Britain and Israel and we asked if it's really in anyone's interests to have a row with the Israelis at present. The latest upset in relations follows the Israeli government's refusal to allow members of the Palestinian Authority to attend a conference in London next week. There's also anger over Mr Blair's decision to meet the new leader of the Israeli Labour party, Amram Mitzna.

Estelle Morris
And we talked to the former Education Secretary, Estelle Morris, about life since her dramatic resignation last year. Did her admission that she felt she wasn't up to the job mark the beginning of a new kind of politics? Or was it just a one off departure from the normal hurly burly of the Westminster arena.
