Toddler dies in car crash
M1 motorway
The crash happened on the A610, near the M1
A two-year-old girl has died in hospital after a car crash on the A610, near Nottingham.

The head-on crash happened about 1440 GMT on Monday near junction 26 with the M1.

The girl died shortly after 2300 GMT on Tuesday.

Police believe the crash happened when a red Rover 216 SLi, heading towards the M1 from Eastwood, crossed the central reservation.

It collided with a white Vauxhaul Combi travelling in the opposite direction.

Both drivers suffered only minor injuries and were discharged from hospital on the day of the crash.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
