Police appeal after road rage incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident
Police say a young woman was terrorised by a male driver during what they describe as a "serious" road rage incident in Shropshire.

They are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place on the A442 Bridgnorth to Telford Road, on Monday afternoon.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was forced to brake hard to avoid a collision when a man driving a burgundy Lada stopped abruptly in front of her at the Hundred House Hotel at Norton.

A number of vehicles travelling behind her narrowly avoided running into her yellow Fiat Siecento.

Flashing lights

Police say the male driver, who was in his late 30s to early 40s, got out of his car and smashed his fist against the woman's window, telling her to get out.

He eventually drove off when she started dialling 999 on her mobile phone.

Before the incident, police say he had been tail-gating his victim for some distance, flashing the lights of his car, tooting his horn and trying to overtake.

They say the man could have caused a serious accident.

He is described as being tall and stocky with distinctive cropped ginger hair and a ginger moustache.

He was wearing a dark brown leather jacket and two gold rings.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
