£100m city development plans on show
York
The development is one of the biggest in York
Plans for a £100m scheme to redevelop a large area in the centre of York will be put on public display.

Scale models and architects' drawings of the Hungate development will be on show from Wednesday to allow local people to have their say on the proposals.

The planning team claims the project is potentially one of the most exciting city developments in the UK.

The plans include the building of affordable housing in addition to commercial and leisure facilities within the historic city walls.

Chief architect John Thompson said: "It will bring economic vitality to the heart of the city."

"We very much want it to be a unique place."

The outline plans will be on display seven days a week until the January 21 in a warehouse opposite the BT exchange off Stonebow.
