Two men injured in shooting
Police car
The incident is not being linked to other shootings
Police in Liverpool have begun an investigation after two men were shot as they sat in a car.

Officers were called to the Croxteth area of the city following the incident just after 2130 GMT on Tuesday.

The men, aged 18 and 20, were sat in a silver BMW in Sceptre Road when the incident took place.

On Wednesday scenes of crimes officers were examining the area and carrying out house-to-house inquiries.

The men were later taken to hospital and received treatment for what police described as minor injuries.

Detectives said they are not linking the incident to the recent shootings in Liverpool in which three people have been killed.
