Meet a real-life Billy Elliott
still from the film Billy Elliott
life for boy dancers can be even tougher than the film
The mother of a real-life Billy Elliot, who says that her son has been bullied at school for wanting to be a dancer, is suing her local council.

Kristopher King, who is eleven, was physically attacked after boys at his school in Derby found out that he loved dancing.

His parents have accused teachers of failing to protect Kristopher, and punish the boys responsible for the attacks.

  • Just after 8.20am, Breakfast talked live to Kristopher and his mother.

And, according to professional dancer Tim Noble, his case is not at all unusual.
