York mother's custody fight
Allison Williams
Allison Williams who wants to see her son
A North Yorkshire woman is facing a battle to be reunited with her seven-year-old son who lives in America.

Allison Williams, of Cygnet Street, off Nunnery Lane, in York is desperate to see her son Daniel after his father Kevin Stucki died of cancer in the United States.

Now Ms Williams is facing the prospect of an expensive and lengthy custody battle in the U.S. courts with Mr Stucki's girlfriend for seven-year-old Daniel.

Although the couple had reached a shared-custody agreement, this now needs to be amended and that will cost £5,000.

He's already been through more trauma than most adults have experienced in a lifetime

Allison Williams
Speaking to BBC Look North Ms Williams said:" I think he (Daniel) is shell-shocked. He will be devasted by the loss of his father."

She added: "The first thing I thought about was jumping on a plane to go, but if I arrive there and didn't have an attorney to actually fight in my court then I'd be up against a brick wall.

"If I went to the house and knocked on the door and said I'm here to pick up my son and they said no you can't have him....I don't know how I'd react.

"He's already been through more trauma than most adults have experienced in a lifetime."

"I just want to be able to go with the least trouble as possible to pick him up and make him feel safe."
