Job centre board
The attack is alleged to have happened at a job centre
A Birmingham man has appeared in court accused of slashing his wife's throat in a busy job centre.

Mohammed Ahmed, of Albert Road, Birmingham, was remanded in custody after a brief hearing at Luton Crown Court.

Mr Ahmed is accused of attacking his wife Nargis Jahan, 21, with a knife at a job centre in Mill Street, Luton, on 25 October last year.

The 25-year-old denied one charge of attempted murder and one of having a firearm in a public place.

Mr Ahmed was remanded in custody until his trial which is expected to be held in April.
