Dr Ghadiali denies three charges of indecent assault
A consultant psychiatrist has appeared at Nottingham Crown Court accused of indecently assaulting three women.

Dr Himanshu Ghadiali, 56, fondled women's breasts and gave them unnecessary internal examinations after telling them it was part of their treatment, the court heard on Tuesday.

He assaulted the women on separate occasions after telling them he was looking for other ailments, Dawn Pritchard, prosecuting, told the jury.

Dr Ghadiali, of Ashbourne, Derbyshire, denies three charges of indecently assaulting three women at his clinic between 1996 and 1999.

Miss Pritchard told the court: "The behaviour of Dr Ghadiali was more than professionally inappropriate, it was clinically unnecessary and the physical contact he had was an assault, an indecent one."

The offences took place at The Elms Clinic in Ashbourne Road, Derby, where Ghadiali conducted psychiatry sessions, she said.

The case continues.
