Search for missing woman stepped up
Rachel Moran
Police have stepped up the search for Rachel
Detectives in Hull are to use a major incident computer in the search for a 21-year-old woman who has been missing since the early hours of New Year's Day.

Rachel Moran was last seen when she left her parents' house in Hall Road to walk to her home in Sax Court after a night out.

Detective Superintendent Paul Davison, of Humberside police, said the force was setting up a special inquiry team and bringing in the HOLMES computer to co-ordinate information.

He said: "The use of the HOLMES computer system will ensure that every possibility and every potential line of inquiry is identified and investigated thoroughly.

House-to-house inquiries

"The circumstances surrounding Rachel's disappearance cause us great concern.

"It is completely out of character for Rachel not to be in touch with her family.

"She left her parents' home wearing a thin dress and jacket and had just a small amount of cash, mobile phone and house keys with her.

"Due to our concerns we have put together a team of detectives who will be dedicated to this inquiry."

Officers have conducted house-to-house inquiries in the area and searched outbuildings and open land.
