Arrests after man's murder
Police crime scene
The victim suffered stab wounds to the stomach
Police investigating the murder of a man in Merseyside have made two arrests.

Officers were called to a house in St Helens early on Tuesday after being told a man had been taken to hospital with a stab wound.

The victim, aged in his 40s, had suffered knife wounds to the stomach.

He died a short time later at Whiston Hospital, after being taken from the house in the Clinkham Wood area, just after 0000 GMT.

Police later arrested two men, aged 20 and 49, in connection with the death.

The men, who are understood to be from the local area, were expected to be interviewed about the incident later on Tuesday.
