Chef shocked after kidnap ordeal
Indian restaurant
The chef was making deliveries from this new restaurant
A chef is suffering from shock after being abducted and held hostage twice by two men.

The ordeal began for Anwar Khan, 26, when his boss Rupa Miah asked him to help out with takeaway deliveries from Baburchi, a new Indian restaurant in Wickford, Essex.

Unsure of his way home after making the last delivery in West Hanningfield, Mr Khan stopped his blue Peugeot 406 to look at a map.

"There was a tap on the window which drew his attention to the nearside of the car, where he saw a young woman," said Simon Dinsdale, of Essex Police.

Verbally abused

"As he looked there, the rear passenger door and his driver's door were opened by two men, who pushed into the car."

Mr Khan was forced into the passenger seat where he was restrained and verbally abused before the men drove off with him in his car.

After a terrifying 30-minute journey they dumped him in a quiet country lane.

Mr Khan hid in bushes before flagging down a car for help.

But it turned out to be his attackers again, who bundled him back in and drove around before dumping him in a field.

Essex Police are appealing for anyone who knows anything about the incident to come forward.

They are particularly keen to track down the stolen car.
