Rape charge man in court
Police appealled for information
A young man has appeared in court accused of raping a 15-year-old girl as she walked home from Hogmanay celebrations.
Thomas Etchells, 18, is charged with raping the girl in the early hours of New Year's morning in Dudhope Park. Mr Etchells, of Balgowan Avenue, Dundee, appeared in private at the city's sheriff court. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. Mr Etchells was arrested on Sunday following repeated appeals by police for the public to come forward with information.
