Road safety scheme starts
Work is due to start in the Peterborough area on Monday to improve the safety of a major road junction.

The £4m scheme on the A1 at Stibbington will involve overnight road closures, and is likely to disrupt traffic until the middle of the summer.

There have been 32 serious accidents at the junction over the past five years.

Bail extended for farmer

The Cambridgeshire farmer arrested over a speech he made at a country fair has had his bail extended.

Robin Page, who writes for the Daily Telegraph, was arrested in November on suspicion of incitement to racial hatred in a pro-hunting speech made in Gloucestershire.

Mr Page, who used to present One Man and His Dog, was due to answer bail on Monday.

But a police spokesman said the bail had been extended to 10 February to allow more time for enquiries.
