Police say the raid was a frightening ordeal
A Derby pub landlady and her teenage son have been robbed at knifepoint by two men who got away with thousands of pounds.

The raid at the Vulcan Arms Pub on St Thomas's Road happened just after 0500 GMT on Friday.

Police have described the pair's ordeal as terrifying.

Detective Sergeant Mark Argyle from Peartree CID, said: "At the end of the day there were woken from sleep with two unknown men in the house, who threatened them with knives.

No injuries

"A huge amount of money was stolen. Fortunately no one was injured."

He added: "They are very, very shaken. It was a very frightening experience.

Officers say the men were black, in their early to mid twenties and of slim build.

One was described as 5 ft 9 in tall and the other 6 ft 2 in. Police are appealing for witnesses.
