Reward to find mother's killer
Heather Mary Barnett
Heather Barnett's body was found by her children
A £10,000 reward has been offered to catch the killer of a mother-of-two in Bournemouth.

Heather Barnett was found dead by her son Terry, 14, and daughter Caitlin, 11, when they came home from school on 12 November 2002.

Detectives believe the killer used a hammer and a knife to murder the 48-year-old seamstress in her ground floor flat in Capstone Road in Charminster.

Detective Superintendent Phil James said: "I am hoping the reward from Crimestoppers for information leading to the conviction of Heather's killer, will prompt someone to come forward with a vital piece of the jigsaw.

"Someone, somewhere - perhaps several people - knows who killed Heather so brutally and other people may have suspicions.

"I would say please think of Heather's two children, Caitlin and Terry, who have been so tragically and brutally robbed of their mother - please take time to examine your conscience."

Dorset Police held a Christmas collection on behalf of Miss Barnett's children who are now staying with family in Dorset.
