Bus strike starts in Norwich
Bus strikers
Bus drivers picketing at the Norwich depot
Norwich residents faced a struggle to get to work and school on Monday morning as the city's bus drivers went on strike.

Drivers at First Eastern Counties began the week-long industrial action on Sunday.

Managers have been drafted in to drive key services such as the Park and Ride link and the number 25 route from the University of East Anglia to the railway station.

Barry Pybis of First Eastern Counties said: "We expect to be operating about 25 vehicles on Monday, that growing towards 40 or 50 as the week goes on."

The dispute centres on proposed changes to working conditions.

Talks broke down between the Transport and General Workers' Union (TGWU) and First Eastern Counties buses on Friday.
