Police appeal for road crash witnesses
Police are appealing for witnesses to a road crash near Huntingdon in which a vehicle failed to stop.

The incident happened at 1905 GMT on Friday on the A14 eastbound carriageway near the Spittals Interchange.

A geen Volkswagen Passat hit the central reservation after being struck by an unknown vehicle.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the accident or can identify the vehicle that failed to stop.

Turkeys rescued by RSPCA

One dozen turkeys will go to a pet refuge rather than face the odds in a race to save one winner and send the rest to the Christmas dinner table.

A race they were due to take part in at a Greyhound track was cancelled following pressure by the RSPCA.

The RSPCA said the Gobble Cup stakes due to take place at Walthamstow dog track in north-east London - was cruel.

After the race, all twelve birds will retire in peace at the exotic pets refuge in Peakirk, north of Peterborough.
