Woman dies of carbon monoxide poisoning
Gas fire
Gas appliances were "checked regularly"
A woman has died after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning at her council flat in Lancashire.

Colleen Ryan, 50, was found unconscious at her home in Cleveland Road, Ingol, Preston, by her son in early December.

She was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital in a critical condition but she died on Friday.

Lancashire Police said they were still working with the Health and Safety Executive to investigate what caused the poisoning.

Mrs Ryan had only lived at the flat for a few months.

Preston Council said gas appliances at the property were checked regularly, the last inspection being in September.
