Firefighters tackle two major fires

More than 100 firefighters are at the Exeter fire

More than 230 firefighters are tackling two major industrial fires.

At least 130 firefighters are trying to contain a big fire at an oil refinery in Redditch, Worcestershire.

And more than 100 firefighters are at a car parts warehouse in Exeter, Devon.

Both fires started early on Monday morning.

The warehouse may collapse

The Exeter fire, in Hennock Road North, in Marsh Barton, started just before 0400 GMT.

Seventeen Devon Fire and Rescue Service crews from 11 towns and villages around the county are attending the incident.

It is believed the warehouse may collapse, but the fire brigade said no one has been reported trapped or hurt.

The warehouse is near one of Exeter's main arterial routes.

Police have closed several roads in the area and have said it will cause major disruption to motorists.

Fire near homes

Officers are asking people to avoid the Marsh Barton area all together to help prevent traffic congestion.

The Redditch fire started at 0430 GMT in a two-storey building on the Washford Industrial Estate, Hemming Road.

More than 20 fire engines are at the scene.

The building is near homes, but police say residents are not being moved out.

People are being advised to keep their windows closed.

Road diversions are in place.
