Weapons including an axe were seized by police

Police have seized drugs and weapons in an operation centred on a nightclub.

Nine people were arrested and questioned after the raid at Monroes on Wood Street, Great Harwood.

Two people have since been cautioned for the possession of drugs.

The police carried out 160 searches of people, cars and property in the early hours of Sunday.

They seized weapons including baseball bats and an axe in Operation Escort.

Two vehicles, suspected of being involved in crime in other parts of the country, were confiscated and drugs were also recovered.

Lancashire Police say the operation was in response to complaints by residents in Great Harwood.
