Police look for mystery hero

Police say the mystery man saved the driver's life
Police want to trace a man who saved another man's life by pulling him from a burning vehicle.

Derbyshire Police said they want to nominate the mystery man for a bravery award.

The driver lost control of his vehicle on Friday morning travelling along Nottingham Road in Somercotes, and the car burst into flames.

Two passers-by ran to blazing vehicle, pulled the driver out and dragged him to safety.

Name given

Police said that without their quick actions the driver would almost certainly have been killed.

One of the men who helped that night has been identified and put forward for a Royal Humane Society award.

But police want to trace the other man - who gave his name as David Buxton at the scene before disappearing - so they can nominate him as well.

The awards are given to people for extraordinary feats of bravery in everyday life.
